“Tiombe Hurd | Defined” and a Speaking Engagement!

This is our latest completed project! Tiombe is focused, training hard and on the road to London 2012. Please be sure to show your support for her at TiombeHurd.net!

Also, we’ll be at the Creative Alliance at 7pm on Feb. 6th for a special CAmm Cine Salon organized by local Director Dankwa Brooks of ‘Nother Brother Entertainment. I’ll be speaking about Jordan Multimedia Group and presenting our latest work and partners, as well as networking with other Maryland-based black filmmakers! Hope to see you there!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things!

  • Latest Project as we go into a (white?) Winter! (Multimedia Production)

So the latest project led me to team up with Damone Brown, a videographer on the rise and owner of Grace Lens Multimedia. And here is our client, Tiombe Hurd:

Tiombe Hurd, Pro Athlete & American Record Holder in the Outdoor Triple Jump (photo, Bruce Talbot)

Tiombe is a pro athlete and Outdoor Triple Jump American record holder, however her story is much more than that. Tiombe has triumphed personal leaps to get to where she is now and Damone and I are happy to help tell her story.

Together, we’re working to produce both a mini-documentary of Tiombe’s volunteer work and everyday life as well as a corporate sponsorship video to help offset her expenses as she as she aims for the London 2012 Olympic Games. We began production a couple of weeks ago and will continue into December following Tiombe’s daily life and creating a piece that shows her seriousness, determination and hard work.

  • Schoolbells and Lunchrooms and Kids that Participate! (A/V Consulting, Multimedia Production)

And that is exactly what happened at one of InterAct Story Theatre‘s performances of Voytto Tech! General Director Ali Oliver-Kruger shared a video she captured of the group performance with the complete A/V Setup and Multimedia production included!! I shared it on our Facebook wall not long ago, but absolutely wanted to post it here as well! I so enjoyed working with InterAct Story Theatre (along with composer Tom Teasley!) on this project and look forward to future developments!!

Check it out!

Better yet, InterAct raised $2,200 through their IndieGoGo campaign to help bring this awesome interactive play to kids that normally don’t get arts programs!

  • Business Updates (with a Bow!)

Gear: I’ve been working with a new DSLR camera to incorporate into new projects as well as a pro digital recorder to capture better sound. I’m learning fast and as always, having fun in the process. Bottom line, I’m able to provide better quality video and audio material!

Awesomeness: I entered a contest I tweeted not long ago @JMultimedia; basically a chance to win Telestream’s Wirecast software. Wirecast allows user’s to live produce & easily stream webcasts without having to have a big studio! And great news? I won a copy of the software!! Back in Fall 2010 when I worked on an A/V consultation with Stacy Yamaoka of Yayastream, I specified Wirecast in an initial proposal as an ideal live production suite compatible with Yayastream. Now that I have it myself, I can’t wait to test it out and incorporate it into JMG services!

New: I hear the tiny bells of an e-newsletter ringing in my ear! Basically, I’d like to provide creative & useful news and links to current & former clients as well as our associates. If you’d like to get on the email list, just click here!

Also, on a personal note, as Thanksgiving arrives this week in the US, I cannot give *enough* thanks to and for the super clients, partners, friends and supporters of Jordan Multimedia Group! I hope you all have a great holiday and winter season!

As always, if you have a project or creative need for A/V consultations, Multimedia production or event support, let’s talk!

PS: Damone and I may have another athletic project in the works! As always, I’ll keep you updated!

August Update!

So, I’m really excited! I finished the video for InterAct Story Theatre’s IndieGoGo Campaign and it went live this week! Please consider donating – it will help to defray the cost of a/v equipment and also help to bring Voytto Tech to schools in rural communities!

Also, last week they began rehearsals and staging of the play…as well as the filming for the video that will appear in the play. The video is actually a multimedia production comprised of voiceovers, compositions, stills, video (and animation) that the actors will be controlling once they take the play on the road. I’ve also recorded voiceovers and have begun to assemble what I need based on the storyboard we (the Voytto Tech A/V club!) developed a few weeks ago.

Here are a few pics of the filming of Mayor Brendley welcoming us to Voytto Prime!
